School pays tribute to murdered teacher

TRIBUTES have been paid to a Surrey teacher who was found murdered at her home in Hampshire.

Donna Coe, who worked at Prior's Field School, Priorsfield Road, Hurtmore, near Godalming, died from multiple stab wounds at her home in Dickens Lane, Petersfield, on Friday morning.

Paying tribute to the 44-year-old mother of one, Prior's Field head teacher Julie Roseblade said: "Donna was a talented and very well respected teacher. She made a valuable contribution to our school community and we are deeply saddened by these events.

"Her pupils, friends and colleagues will miss her very much and our thoughts are with her young daughter and family."

A 45-year-old man, Blair Marrows, also of Dickens Lane in Petersfield, has been charged with Ms Coe's murder.

He was due to appear in court in Basingstoke on Monday but is currently under police guard in hospital.

Hampshire Police have said that he is suffering from a hand injury, although the exact nature of the injury or how long he would be in hospital have not been specified.

The court hearing has not yet been rescheduled.
